Respect At Work By Design

A new suite of educational safety training and prevention and response programs.

Respect At Work by Design is a new suite of educational safety training
and prevention and response programs targeted at all industries and organisations in the area of health and safety at work. The suite of multi layered educational, skills-based programs and tailored by design workshops, aim to educate leaders on the Respect At Work legislative reforms and addresses a gap in the prevention and response of sexual harassment, sex-based harassment, bullying, racism and wider disrespectful behaviours in work (including online behaviour) through personal and organisational empowerment.

Our Education Packages

The suite of RAW education packages are designed to optimise leaders current working knowledge and awareness around the new provisions under the Sex Discrimination Act 1984 (Cth) and the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth).

Leaders complete the training packages based on the understanding it adds value through the lens of “Respect At Work” in taking accountability, recognising behaviour and taking action to interrupt or prevent conduct that amounts to unlawful conduct at work.

Our point of difference lies in our expertise in various industry sectors and our approach in moving beyond simply raising awareness and more about building people capability through developing practical leadership skills.

The main driver of the educational program is based within the Respect At Work Report which highlighted the prevalence and scourge of sexual harassment and bullying in Australian workplaces.

The Report suggested 55 recommendations to which the Federal Government implemented some reform to the Sex Discrimination and Fair Work (Respect At Work) Amendment Bill 2021 (the Bill).

The Federal Government’s intent was to strengthen legislative measures to prevent and address sexual harassment and harassment on the ground of sex in work. The passing of the Bill constituted an important step towards aligning general workplace law, work health and safety law and anti-discrimination law protections for workers.

The Respect At Work by Design preventative and response education programs are grounded in a human rights framework which targets various leadership levels from executive, senior managers and supervisors and includes an overview of the reformed Federal laws, legal obligations of workplaces and individual accountability of those who perpetuate or witness these behaviours (based on WHS duties and any other positive duties placed on employers), bystander intervention and culture change in psychological safety.

In addition to the educational programs, we also offer workplace audits, independent and impartial workplace investigation services and keynote guest speaking events.
